Javed Mughal, a Chartered and HCPC registered physiotherapist, has over 35 years of experience specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of spinal and sports injuries.
Currently, Javed holds the position of Director and Head of Department at the Rainham Physiotherapy Centre treating elite athletes from all over the globe and continuous to lecture on sports injuries as well as specialising in providing injury prevention programmes for individuals as well as sporting organisations.

career

After qualifying in 1987, Javed started his journey into physiotherapy as physiotherapist for Queensbury Rugby League, this was soon followed by becoming Head Physiotherapist at Gillingham FC in 1989.
After seven years at Gillingham FC, Javed teamed up with the England manager, Graham Taylor, and took over as Head Physiotherapist and Head of Medical Department at Watford FC. After a 2-year spell at Watford, Javed was invited to join the sports injury team at the prestigious London Independent Hospital as their specialist spinal physiotherapist where he continued to work with elite athletes and lecture on the MSc course in sports and exercise medicine.
After a 6-year spell at the London Independent Hospital Javed went Back to Gillingham FC and took over as Head of the Medical Department. Besides working at Rainham Physiotherapy centre, Javed travels to Pakistan on a regular basis to work with elite athletes helping them to overcome injuries and setting up injury prevention programmes for all sports.

lecturing

Apart from treating sportsman of all back grounds, Javed has an immense passion for sharing his knowledge and has been invited internationally to lecture on specialist subjects including lecturing in Greece on Anterior Cruciate Rehabilitation for E.C.O.S.E.P, at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons UK on Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome and at the Podiatrists conference on Back Pain.
In 2018 Javed was invited to lecture at an international symposium on shoulder injuries in Pakistan and has since teamed up with an international team of consultants to mentor physiotherapists as well as provide rehabilitation services to elite athletes as well as the needy patients both in the UK and Pakistan.
